The seven hanging valleys walk
Only a 30 minutes drive from Lagos there is one of the seven wonders of the Algarve: “The Seven Hanging Valleys Walk”, that follows the winding outlines of the cliffs, offering walkers unique views of the coastal landscape. This is a extending 5,7 Km from the Vale Centianes Beach to the Idylic Benagil Beach & Benagil Cave, till the World famous Marinha Beach & Albandeira Beach. The walk follows the almost unbroken line of the cliffs, interrupted only by water courses, most of which flow into the sea from above creating the after which the walk is named. Each was, in the distant past, associated with a river mouth and shows the effects of the intensive erosion that took place along the coastline, as they were formed by a rapidly receding coastline that did not affect the watercourse.
